OBITUARIES
ADAMS - William H., 89, of Sweet Valley, died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Lakeside Nursing Center, Dallas.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 30, 1919, he graduated from GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was employed as a machinist by the American Chain and Cable Company, Wilkes-Barre, for 32 years and retired from Midway Tool and Engineering Company, Laflin, where he worked for 15 years.
He was a member of American Legion Post 463, Plymouth.
Surviving is his son, John W. Adams, Sweet Valley.
BRINOLA - Michael A., 96, of Trucksville, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born May 18, 1913 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a graduate of GAR High School.
Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was employed by Owens Illinois as a machinist. He was a member of Saint Therese’s Church, Shavertown, and a former member of the Holy Name Society of St. John’s Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are his daughter, Ann Marie Haughwout, of Georgia; son Michael, of Trucksville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

CILVIK - Edward A., 79, of Sweet Valley and Norwich, N.Y., died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Mercy Special Care Hospital, Nanticoke.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 13, 1929, he graduated from Wilkes-Barre Township High School in 1947. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Harveys Lake American Legion Post 967.
He operated Cilvik Products, Inc. which made and distributed Herbalm Medicinal Products until the 1960s.
Surviving are his sons, Edward, of Red Hill; Paul, of Walla Walla, Wash.; Willard, of Sweet Valley; Robert, of Harveys Lake; daughters, Leicha Cilvik, of Dallas; Catherine, of San Jose, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; brother, Carl, of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Joan Booth, of Monticello, N.Y.; Margaret Krummell, of Wilkes-Barre; Marie Avery, of Liberty, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews.
CLARK - Elmer H., of Diamond Trailer Park, Tunkhannock, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born in Sayre on April 4, 1941, he was employed as an electrician at the Bad Creek Power Plant, Salem, S.C. prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Wyoming County Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his companion, Trudy Collins; sons, Elmer, of Winchester, Tenn.; Keith Alan, of Greenville, S.C.; and Jason Wallace, of Roswell, Ga.; a daughter, Becky Sue Black, of Easley, S.C.; brothers, Duane, of Towanda, and John, of LaRaysville; a sister, Delores Schoonover, of Wysox; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

CRAMER - Grace M., 84, formerly of Shoemakersville, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Village at Greenbriar, Dallas, where she lived since June 2008.
Born in Perry Township, she was a 1943 graduate of Perry High School. She was a member of Zion’s Church, Perry Township, and also a former member of the Women’s Club of Leesport.
Surviving are her son, Samuel T., Harveys Lake; and a sister, Lara L. (Shappell) Newcombe, Tuckerton.

FULLERTON - George L. “Skippy,” III, 72, of Valley View Drive, Hunlock Creek, died on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Thelma Sue, Sheatown.
Born on November 30, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, he was employed for 13 years at Penn Footwear and 21 years at Standard Coach, Nanticoke. Also, he worked at Buda’s Farm in Mooretown and Lamoreaux’s Auto Parts in Sweet Valley.
He graduated from Laketon Elementary School and from the Scranton School for the Deaf in 1954. He also attended Barber Finishing School in Philadelphia.
He was a member of the Wilkes-Barre Society of the Deaf and was a member of the United Sportsmen’s Camp 271, Huntington Mills.
Surviving are his sons, George L. IV, Orangeville; Mark and Bryan, Nanticoke; daughters, Thelma Sue, Sheatown; Rhonda, Nanticoke; brother, Joseph Dobrowolski, Hunlock Creek; sisters, Claire Shilanski, Plymouth; Nancy Slasor, San Antonio, Texas; Gael Miller, Falls City, Ore.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
GUYETTE - Ruth Ann (Stile), of Tunkhannock, died Friday, July 17, 2009 at home following a brief illness.
Born in Luzerne, she graduated from Luzerne High School. She gave a weekend home to many boys from St. Michael’s School for Boys as a foster parent in her earlier years.
Surviving are a sister, Beatrice, Luzerne; son, Bill, of Augusta, Ga.; daughter, Mary Beth, of Tunkhannock; son, James; five grandchildren; one great-grandson.

KELLER - Betty Ziegenfus, 93, died Monday, July 20, 2009 at The Village at Greenbriar, Dallas.
Born August 31, 1915 in South Wales, Great Britain, she was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1934. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Isaac Long Department Store, Wilkes-Barre, and the Kiddie Shop in Edwardsville.
She was a member of the Dorranceton United Methodist Church, Kingston, and also of the Wyoming Valley Women’s Club, the Salvation Army Auxiliary and the Irem Temple Auxiliary.
Surviving are her son, Gary David, of Luzerne; three granddaughters; two great-grandchildren.
KROUSE - Francis J., died on Saturday, July 18, 2009.
Born in Edwardsville, he resided in Chase for 38 years before moving to Kingston in 1993.
He retired from the State Correctional Institution in Dallas in 1980 and was employed as a corrections officer and infirmary supervisor.
He attended Edwardsville schools and graduated from Coughlin High School. He also graduated from the Lincoln School of Practical Nursing and the Army School of Martial Arts in Pueblo, Colo.
An Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he earned five bronze stars and earned the rank of First Sergeant. He also served as a Deputy Sheriff while stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado at Manitou, Colo.
A survivor of the 109th Field Artillery train wreck, he transferred to Camp Atterbury Base Hospital as an administrative assistant. He was also an investigator for the Courts of Military Justice, receiving another citation for his expertise and knowledge in the codes of military justice.
He was also past vice chairman of the Paramount Theatrical Agency in the 1940s. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, Post 752, Edwardsville; a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 102; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 283; American Legion, Post 797; Post 4 Society of the 28th Division and a retired member of the Wilkes-Barre Police Lodge 36; and Pa. Association of Retired State Employees.
He was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Polish National Catholic Church, Edwardsville.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Zielen Krouse; daughter, Theresa Gorda, of Shavertown; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Helen Zielen, of Swoyersville; brothers, Felix, of Drums; and William, of Hazleton; nieces and nephews.

RADONAVITCH - Robert S., 69, of Shavertown, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Kingston on August 15, 1939, he graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1957. Prior to retiring two years ago, he was self-employed as a truck driver for 35 years.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Patricia Hilgert; sons, Stephen R., of Jamestown, N.C., and William J., of Long Island, N.Y.; sisters, Josephine Bunney and Jennie Rice, both of Chase; and six grandchildren.

RISHCOFF – Margaret, of Hunlock Creek, died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Swoyersville, she was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul U.C. Church, Plymouth.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Roscoe M.; daughter, Judy Finn, Hunlock Creek; two grandsons; one great-grandson.
SHOLTIS - Joseph, 91, of Lake Township, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Golden Living Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Swoyersville, he attended the Oakdale School in Jackson Township. Before retiring, he was self-employed as a farmer.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving is his cousin, Edward Sholtis, Dallas.
