OBITUARIES
BROBST - Clinton, 83, of Harris Hill Road, Trucksville, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 at Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born April 23, 1926 in Dallas, he was a graduate of Dallas Borough High School and East Stroudsburg University where he received his teaching degree.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served his country during World War II and was a teacher in the Dallas School District for 30 years. He was also a basketball and track coach for over 25 years at Westmoreland and Dallas High Schools.
Surviving are his companion of 23 years, Anna Natitus, of Trucksville; caregivers, Frank and Debbie Natitus, of Trucksville; brother, Herbert, of Klamuth Falls, Ore.; numerous nieces and nephews.

CRISCI - Michael J. Jr., 84, of Dallas, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at Mercy Center, Dallas.
Born in Pittston, he was a graduate of West Pittston High School and Upsala College. . He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served his country during World War II.
Before retiring, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor in various capacities. Previously, he was a sales representative for Block Pharmaceuticals.
He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas; the Father O’Leary Council Knights of Columbus; former member of the Dallas Lions Club and was active in the Misericordia University community life.
Surviving are her daughters, Michelle Carter and Becky Crisci, Dallas; Rose Ann Crisci, Sweet Valley; Ann Crisci Perez, Lancaster; sister, Rose Marie Crisci, Exeter; brother, Robert, Indiana; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

ECK - Harry L., 85, of Sweet Valley, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.
Born on November 15, 1923 in Warrensville, he graduated from Williamsport High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II at Pearl Harbor and served on the USS LSM 298 as a motor machinist’s mate.
He was employed as a machinist in Williamsport and retired from Foster Wheeler at Mountain Top after 18 years of service. He attended the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church and was a member of the VFW, Hanover Township and the Super X Hunting Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, the former Reva Masters; sons, Earl, of Pringle; Lee, of Beach Haven; Philip, of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Cheri Gilbert, of Easton; stepson, Barry Pahler, of Pikes Creek; stepdaughter, Sandra Kubasik, of Sweet Valley; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
FITZGERALD - Warren D., 68, of Dallas, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at home.
Born on September 15, 1940 in Wilkes-Barre, he graduated from Dallas High School in 1958 and entered the U.S. Army, where he served in Germany for three years.
He was a member of the Cross Creek Community Church, Trucksville, and the American Legion Post 463, Plymouth for 24 years. H was employed by Dallas Dairy for 20 years and was later employed as a bus driver for Martz Trailways, retiring February 1, 2009 after 27 years of service
Surviving are his wife of 10 years, the former Judith Newberry; daughter, Susan Setzer, of Malvern; brothers, David Fitzgerald, of Sweet Valley; and Kenneth Fitzgerald, of Beaumont; stepdaughters, Cindy Moore, of Dallas, Texas; Dawn Dewey, of Dallas; Melissa Major, of Wilkes-Barre; brother, Robert Fitzgerald, of Waxhaw, N.C.; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren, and one step-great-grandson.

HUMMEL - Inez H., 94, of Dallas, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Mercy Center, Dallas.
Born in Beaumont, she attended the Beaumont school.
Surviving are two grandchildren, a sister-in-law, nieces and nephews.
JENKINS - Arnold, 76, of Hunlock Creek, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at the Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Tunkhannock, he worked for John Heinz Rehab and Nanticoke Public Service as a driver prior to his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Ogin; daughters, Grace Olenick, Hanover Township; Linda Cologie, Ashley; Eleanor Conrad, Scranton; Carmela Gibbons, Hunlock Creek; Harriet Jenkins, Exeter; and a sister, Harriet Jenkins, Warren, Ohio.
KATYL - Nadine Marie Ann, 53, of North Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Dallas, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 at her home.
Born July 25, 1956 in Kingston, she is survived by her parents, Joseph and Irene D. Katyl; brothers, Robert, David, William and Mark, all of Dallas; sister, Donna Butler, of Trucksville; nieces and nephews.

KISHBAUGH - Charles E., 91, of Dallas, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1936. Before retiring, he was employed as a building superintendent in New Jersey and was previously employed as a milk delivery man by Woodlawn, Glendale and Orchard Farm dairies.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church and its Couples Club and the Church Bowling League.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Helen Love Kishbaugh; son, Charles E., Dallas; sister, Betty O’Toole, Maryland; brother, John E., New Jersey; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

SCHOOLEY - Catherine B., formerly of Wilkes-Barre and Shavertown, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
Born on April 12, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1942 and was a seamstress in the garment industry throughout the Wyoming Valley.
She was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown.
Surviving are her sons, Richard, of Levittown; Michael, of Trucksville; daughter, Kathleen Prushinski, of Nanticoke; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Lynch, Columbus, Ohio; Jeanne Decker, San Diego, Calif.; Beverly Hanley, Dallas; Winifred Finden, Monson, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
SMITH - Kenneth Lee, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Tunkhannock and Scranton, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 in Community Hospice-Morris Center, Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Tunkhannock on November 5, 1960, he was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School and had been employed at Keystone Junior College in Factoryville.
Later, he was the owner and operator of Down to Earth Landscaping in Scranton before relocating to Jacksonville in 2004.
Surviving are his parents, Thomas Severcool, of Tunkhannock; and Barbara Vaow Severcool; his partner of 15 years, Patrick Target; brothers, Michael, of Tunkhannock; Jeffery, of Madison, Ga.; sister, Cynthia O’Malley, of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and great-nephews.
WIKOSKI - Edmund “Ed” S., 91, of Tunkhannock, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 in the Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock.
Born on November 23, 1917 in Scranton, he was a self-employed trucker and stone-quarry operator prior to his retirement. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity B.V.M. in Tunkhannock.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Helen Dixon Wikoski; brothers, Lewis, of Falls; and Chester, of Tunkhannock; several nieces and nephews.
