OBITUARIES

ARCHACAVAGE - Bernadine G., 78 of Hunlock Creek, Plymouth Township, died Sunday, Aug.30, 2009 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Nanticoke on September 19, 1930, she was employed by Weis Markets, Dallas, as a donut maker for the last 10 � years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Benjamin; son, Andrew A., of Hanover Green; daughters, Carol Nestorick, of Hunlock Creek; and Cathy Goodas, of Glen Lyon; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

BROWSKI - Chet, 81, of Pikes Creek, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at the Hospice Unit of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Breslau, Hanover Township, he served as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy during World War II on RB Wallace, Thomas Wilson and three national bulk carrier ships and retired from the Army Corps of Engineers at the Black Rock Locks Buffalo, N.Y., aboard Dredge Haines.

He was a member of the original committee that formed the Hanover Township Notre Dame Club in 1969.

Surviving are his son, Chet Jr.; one granddaughter; brothers, Frank and Leonard; nieces and nephews.

BRUNNER - Rebecca Lou, 62, of Tunkhannock, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 at Kingston Commons, Kingston.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y. on November 18, 1946, she was a 1965 graduate of Johnson City High School, Johnson City, N.Y. She worked as a sous chef in the New York and Pennsylvania areas.

Surviving are her sister, Wendy Whitesell, of Kingston; two nieces; a nephew; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; numerous cousins.

BULLOCK - Matthew L., of Dallas, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009.

Born March 18, 1997, he attended Lake-Lehman High School. While growing up, he was involved in Little League baseball and was active with Boy Scouts.

Surviving are his parents, Robert and Phyllis Price Bullock, of Dallas; brothers, Paul, of Dallas; Mark, of Edwardsville; sisters, Lori Bullock, of Dallas; Beth Steltz, Mountain Top; several nieces and nephews.

COON - Hilda M., 86, of Carverton, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at her home.

Born in Centermoreland on December 9, 1922, she attended school in West Wyoming. She was a member of the Northmoreland Baptist Church, Centermoreland.

Surviving are her husband of 68 years, John W. Jr.; daughter, Sandra Ide, of Carverton; son, Jack, of Carverton; a sister, Louise Reeves, of Islin, N.J., five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

CRISCI - Michael J. Jr., 84, of Dallas, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at Mercy Center, Dallas.

Born in Pittston, he was a graduate of West Pittston High School and Upsala College. Before retiring, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor in various capacities.

Previously, he was a sales representative for Block Pharmaceuticals. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served his country during World War II.

He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas; the Father O’Leary Council Knights of Columbus; former member of the Dallas Lions Club; and was active in the Misericordia University community life.

Surviving are his daughters, Michelle Carter and Becky Crisci, Dallas; Rose Ann Crisci, Sweet Valley; Ann Crisci Perez, Lancaster; sister, Rose Marie Crisci, Exeter; brother, Robert, Indiana; three grandchildren; and great-grandson.

NEWELL - Harold “Mack” R. Sr., 76, of Sweet Valley, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at home.

Born in Noxen on April 18, 1933, he was employed by General Cigar and Tobacco, Kingston, for 33 years as a master mechanic.

He attended the Living Word Baptist Church, Fairmount Township.

Surviving are his sons, Harold R. Jr., of Sweet Valley; and Michael S., of Azel, Texas; a sister, Beverly Murphy, of Noxen; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

OCCHIATO - Dolores, 75, of High Meadows Apartments, Dallas, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009 at her home.

Born January 25, 1934 in Hilldale, she was a graduate of Plains High School and formerly resided in Kingston where she was a member of St. Ignatius Church.

Surviving are her children, Rocco Occhiato and Darlene Lieberman; four grandchildren; sister, Rose Hanas; brothers, William Stella, Anthony Stella, Gregory Stella and Matthew Stella.

PANICZKO - Joseph S., 87, of Loyalville, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on December 26, 1921, he was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was employed as a tractor-trailer driver for Frank B. Sgarlat Co., Forty Fort, and Harry Hughey Trucking Co., Tunkhannock, prior to retiring in 1986.

Surviving are his nephews and friends.

SOSNOWSKI - Anthony, 77, of Carverton, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at home.

Born in Center Moreland, he was formerly employed in the sheet metal industry. He was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church, Carverton, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Sudnick Sosnowski; daughters, Mary Susan, Plains Township; Barbara Ambrose; Harveys Lake, Linda, Willow Grove; son, Mark, Plains Township; sisters, Anna and Eleanor; three grandchildren.

Memorial donations to Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

WEAVER - Carolyn M., 78, of Noxen, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Noxen on May 9, 1931, she graduated from Tunkhannock High School. She was employed as a notary for several car auctions and was currently employed by Weaver’s Auto Body, Noxen.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Reformation Lutheran Church, Noxen, the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries and the National Notary Association.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Weaver; daughters, Linda Patton, of Mill City; Dorothy Konopatski, of Falls; Karen Eaton, of Lehman; Barbara Weaver, of Germany; brothers, Leroy and Larry Butler, of Noxen; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
