CANNON – James C., 71, of Shavertown, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his home.
Born May 17, 1937 in Larksville, he was a 1955 graduate of Kingston High School and was employed for many years by Acme Food Markets. Most recently, he worked for Penn Fern Gas in Trucksville.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lorraine Gavlick, with whom he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary in October 2008; his children, Debra Cramer, Ohio; Linda Sharpe, Bartonsville; James, Coopersburg; Lori Mrochko, Sweet Valley; seven grandchildren.
CARR – Jule Martin, 104, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Mercy Center in Dallas.
Born February 23, 1905 in Pringle, she attended Pringle schools. She was an active member of Holy Savior Parish for 73 years before moving to Mercy Center. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Quilting Club and East End Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her daughters, Maurita Buhsmer, Berwyn; and Jule Leonard, Allentown; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
CONRAD - Terry, 60, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 in the Hospice Care of the VNA Inpatient Unit Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Sunbury, he was a graduate of Sunbury High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed in the quality-control department at BC Bundt of Taylor.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, the former Margaret Peddigree; daughter, Terra Hudack, Plains; one grandson; brothers, Edward, Moncks Corners, S.C.; Randy, Selinsgrove; nieces and nephews.

DOMBROSKI - Nancy Jane, of Trucksville, died on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born on January 7, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a 1950 graduate of GAR High School in Wilkes-Barre. She worked as a lab technician at the Kirby Health Center, as an accounting clerk at Wyoming National Bank and as a retail merchandise specialist at Bergman’s.
She was a 43-year member of the Trucksville United Methodist Church, formerly serving as trustee, an usher, a Sunday school teacher and as a member of the Trucksville United Methodist Women’s Club.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas W., with whom she would have celebrated her 53rd wedding anniversasry on June 23, 2009; her children, Joyce Dombroski-Gebhardt, of Kingston; Thomas Jr., of Hanover Township; Ronald W., of Trucksville; Susan Dombroski-Irvin, of Shavertown; five grandchildren, one great-grandson; sisters, Doris Hughes, of Wilkes-Barre Township; and Claire Parsons, of Mountain Top; brothers, Jack Mills and Robert Mills, both of Florida; nieces and nephews.

KELLY - Richard F., 68, of Trucksville, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Hospice Community Center in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Pittston, he graduated from Pittston High School, Class of 1958. He was a retired Master Chief Petty Officer of the U.S. Navy. He also retired from Wells Fargo Data Processing Center, Tempe, Ariz., in 1994.
He belonged to the Fleet Reserve Association, NOLA Branch 163, New Orleans, where he served as President and Treasurer; he belonged to the VFW Post 11118, Ariz., where he served as Post Quartermaster; he also belonged to the VFW Post 283, Kingston.
Surviving are his wife, Maureen Clarke Kelly; four sisters, Ann Judge, Syosset, N.Y.; Catherine Bender and Sheila Walsh, both of Pittston; and Jo Ellen Devlin, Putnam, Conn.; two brothers, Thomas, West Lafayette, Ind.; and Michael, Pittston; several nieces and nephews.

NEY – Dorothy Grogan, 94, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Mercy Center, Dallas.
Born Feb. 6, 1915 in Plains Township, she graduated from Luzerne High School. Before retiring in 1980, she was a business agent for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for more than 20 years.
She was a member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas and its Altar and Rosary Society, the John Heinz Institute auxiliary and VFW Post 283 auxiliary.
Surviving are a sister, Elizabeth Parkinson, of Bensalem; brother, James Grogan, of Kentucky; nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren
MITCHELL - William E. Jr., 35, of Hunlock Creek, died Thursday, March 5, 2009. Born on November 15, 1973 in Kingston, he was employed by City-Mager, Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are his parents, William E. and Charlotte (Moore) Mitchell, Hunlock Creek; his former wife, Tina Robbins; daughter, Emily; son, Matthew; sisters, Michelle Nichols, Kathy Mitchell and Shirley Wildoner, all of Hunlock Creek.
NORWIG - Carl E., 96, of Shavertown, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he attended the Wilkes-Barre schools. Before retiring, he was employed as an electrician by Westinghouse, Wilkes-Barre. As part of his career with Westinghouse, he resided in the Panama Canal Zone for three years.
He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, North Wilkes-Barre.
Surviving are a son, William C., Dallas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SILIC - Mary, 90, formerly of Yeager Avenue, Shavertown, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth.
She was born July 24, 1918 in Shavertown.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
VANSOVITCH – Martin, of Stark Road, Tunkhannock, died Monday, March 9, 2009 in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley emergency room.
Born in Olyphant on Oct. 31, 1938, he was a Navy veteran and a graduate of the Culinary School of New York. Prior to moving back to Tunkhannock and opening Marty’s Country Place, he worked at several New York restaurants as executive chef, including the Club House at Yonkers Race Track and for the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.
WOLENSKY – Carol L., 576, of Carverton Road, Trucksville, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a courageous nine-year battle with cancer.
Born Dec. 6, 1951 in Kingston, she was a graduate of Dallas High School, Class of 1969, and Luzerne County Community College, Class of 1971. She was an employee of the state for more than 20 years in the Bureau of Disability Determination.
She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
Surviving are her brothers, Robert, Stevens Point, Wis.; Ken, of Grantville; Jack, of Trucksville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
