BARR - The Reverend Albert A., 65, of Tunkhannock, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Meadville on May 1, 1943, he was a pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Tunkhannock, and also served as the administrator for the Endless Mountain Christian Academy. He traveled worldwide with the Christian Ministry for 16 years. He graduated from Clemson University, S.C., and Anderson College.

He taught for 17 years at Hobe Sound Bible College in Florida.

Surviving are his parents, Don and Lillian Turner Jones, of Glenville, N.C.; his wife, the former Sandra Price Miller, of Tunkhannock; sons, Allen, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Phillip, of Spartanburg, S.C.; daughters, Karen Trincato, of Lebanon, Ind.; Cindy Hartley, of Lexington, N.C.; brother, Kim, of Washington; sister, Anita Halter, of Taiwan; two uncles; one brother-in-law; many grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

BARTRON - James J., 68, of Tunkhannock, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at home

Born in Tunkhannock on Nov. 16, 1940, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathe Reynolds Bartron; brothers, Daniel, of Arizona; John, of Tunkhannock; and Robert, of Idaho; sisters, Margaret Goldstein, of Fort Myers, Fla.; Sally Rosencrance, of Laceyville; and Deborah Bartron, of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations to the Tyler Health Foundation, Susquehanna County SPCA, or the Lemon United Methodist Church.

BORTON - James J., of Shavertown, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the home of his daughter in Chandler, Ariz.

Born in Mildred on March 26, 1925, he attended school in Lake Township and graduated from Dallas Township High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in the cadet program in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946, achieving the rank of sergeant.

He attended Wilkes College following his military service. He was employed by Bendix Corporation in Montrose for 15 years and retired in 1990 as vice-president of operations of Tammac Corporation.

He was a member of St. Therese’s Parish, Shavertown, and its Holy Name Society and was a charter member of Assumpta Council, Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Margaret Lukasavage Borton; children, Jay, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Maureen Dicker, Chandler, Ariz.; Christopher, Forty Fort; Kevin, Glenmoore; Sheila Shuster, Gold Canyon, Ariz.; and Shawn, Kalamazoo, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Ann Halpin, Hallstead; and Mildred Hykes, State Line.

CAMPBELL - Katherine, of Shavertown, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at the Meadows Nursing Center in Dallas.

Born in Jackson Township, she resided in Plymouth for most of her life.

Surviving are a son, Joseph, of Plymouth; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations to St. Theresa’s Church or the Meadows Nursing Center.

FALCUCCI - Daniel E., of First Avenue, Kingston, died Saturday, March 7, 2009.

Born March 20, 1958 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., he moved to Mount Cobb at an early age. He attended North Pocono Grade School and was a graduate of North Pocono High School and Misericordia University with a degree in music. He studied under Ferdinand Liva and was a concert master of the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. He was an accomplished violinist, guitarist and pianist.

He resided at Harveys Lake for many years and later for a short time in Falls. He was employed by Shaver & Sons, Dallas.

Surviving are his parents, Gloria Ciampichini, Kingston; and Daniel Falcucci; Flemington, N.J.; son, Daniel Jr., Clarks Green; aunts, uncles and cousins.

HUDAK - John J., 76, of Lehman Township, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Dallas, he graduated from Dallas Township High School, Class of 1950. Before retiring, he was employed as a caretaker for Dwight Fisher, Jane Kirmse and Frank and Carol Bevevino.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown, and Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672, Dallas. For many years, he served as ringmaster for the Lehman Township Volunteer Fire Co. Horse Show.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Alice Ide Hudak; son, John J. Jr., Lehman; daughter, Suzanne Rismondo, Lehman; siblings, Rose Salansky, Harveys Lake; Alfred, Dallas; David, Neshanic Station, N.J.; three grandchildren.

LaBAR - Grace A., 85, of Tunkhannock, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Golden Living Center, Tunkhannock.

Born Sept. 6, 1923 in Tunkhannock, she worked at GLF in Tunkhannock for many years.

Surviving are her son, William, Tunkhannock; daughter, Linda Twordusky, Tunkhannock; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

MITCHELL - Michael Adam, 27, of Ross Township, died at his residence, Thursday, March 5, 2009.

Born July 28, 1981 in Wilkes-Barre, he was employed as a truck driver for Heller Gas, Berwick.

Surviving are his parents, William and Charlotte (Moore) Mitchell, Hunlock Creek; companion, Danille Hoover, Harveys Lake; sisters, Michelle Nichols, Mitchell Lane; Kathy Mitchell, Pall Road; Shirley Wildoner, Mitchell Lane; grandfather, Willard Moore; uncles, nieces and nephews

SCHAEFER - Victor W., 93, of Tunkhannock, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock.

Born in Orange County, Calif. on July 29, 1915, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served for five years, seeing action in the Pacific theater of operations during World War II. He was a self-employed plumber and contractor until he retired.

He was a 50-year member of Temple Lodge 248 F&AM of Tunkhannock, a member of the Tunkhannock Moose Lodge 1276 and the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Anne Chaplauske Schaefer; daughter, Ruth Tewksbury, of Tunkhannock; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; sisters, Esther Smith, of Bradenton, Fla.; Mildred Way, of Aurora, Colo.; brother, George Schaefer, of Bradenton, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations to the Triton Hose Company, Tunkhannock Public Library or Delaware Valley Raptor Center.
