GREY - Timothy A., 62, of Harveys Lake, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008.

Born in Alderson, he attended Lehman schools and served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Independence during the Vietnam War and served.

A resident of Harveys Lake for many years, he was employed by Golden Technologies and earlier at Leggett & Platt, Kay Wholesale and the Tobyhanna Army Depot.

Surviving are his wife, Susan; daughters, Debora Williams and Michele Warke, both of Forty Fort; stepdaughter, Sarah Miller, Larksville; stepson, Martin Yauchunis, Luzerne; sisters, Janet Elko, Harveys Lake; Grace Lutz, Forty Fort; Jayne McDermott, Sweet Valley; Marsha Cragle, Edwardsville; Millie O’Brian, New York; Roseadel Scully, Dallas; brothers, Blynn, Sweet Valley; Daniel, New York; and Paul, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

KRZYWICKI - Anna Rose, 75, of Shavertown, formerly of Swoyersville, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008.

Born June 21, 1933 in Berwick, she was a member of Holy Name/St. Mary’s Parish Community, Swoyersville.

Surviving are her sisters, Stella Yuska, Ohio; Frances Powalchick, Swoyersville; brothers, Frank, Plains Township; Michael, Swoyersville; Daniel, New Jersey; several nieces, and nephews.

SAMPSON - Martha Fray Sampson, 80, of Tunkhannock, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008.

Born May 4, 1928, she was a graduate of Clarks Summit High School and Kutztown University, earning her masters in fine arts degree from Marywood University in 1988.

She taught in several public schools in Northeastern Pennsylvania and at a private school in Florida. Later, she taught at Marywood University, The University of Scranton, Penn State Scranton and recently at the Endless Mountains Council of the Arts in Tunkhannock, of which she was the founder and first president.

Surviving are her sisters, Mary Sponaugle, Clarks Summit; and Nancy Rossbacker, Florida; sons, Robert, Noxen; David, White Haven; and John, Tunkhannock; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces.

SICKLER - Marion, 78, of Harveys Lake, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008.

Surviving are her children, Harry, Beaumont; Douglas, Waymart; Marion (Missy) Testa, Tunkhannock; Twila Scott, Centermoreland; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Wilkes, Harveys Lake; Keith Wilkes, Reading; Vern Wilkes and Violet Eaton, both of Wilkes-Barre; Claude Wilkes (Sonny), Noxen; sisters, Lillian Shultz, Kunkle; numerous nieces and nephews.

TURNER - Mary-Jean Alice (Lilly), of Tunkhannock, formerly of Wellsboro, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.

Born in Saegertown, Pa. on January 9, 1926, she was a 1943 graduate of Saegertown High School and received a B.A. in education from Penn State University in 1948. She taught in the Warriors Mark School District in 1948-49 and was a substitute teacher in the Wellsboro School District.

Upon relocating to Tunkhannock in 1968, she was also a substitute teacher in the Tunkhannock Area School District. She was a life member of the Eastern Star of Wellsboro, a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women where she served on various church committees.

Surviving are her husband, Francis C.; son, Samuel C., Tunkhannock; daughter, Susan Jean, Saegertown; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

WEIDA - Marilyn Jane, 71, of Lee Park, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.

Born in Orange on June 4, 1937, she was a graduate of Dallas Township High School. She was employed by Hills Department Store, Ames and most recently Big Lots, retiring in 2005.

Surviving are her children, Richard M., Hanover Township; Annette Stark, Sharon Mros and Tracy Poplawski, all of Wilkes-Barre; Joseph, Hampton, Va.; Mark, John and Colleen Cronauer, all of Hanover Township; 18 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sister, Judy Kelly, Deer Park, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

ZIELEN - Edward A., 79, of Tripp Street, Swoyersville, formerly of Shavertown, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he joined the U.S. Army in 1946 and later re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Georgia Pacific, Pittston, as a production worker and was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; sons, Joseph, Viola, Del.; Anthony, Harding; Leonard, Swoyersville; nine grandchildren; sisters, Helen Krouse, Kingston; Stella Wojcik, Shavertown; brother, Stanley, Edwardsville; numerous nieces and nephews.
