DMS students cited at awards assembly

Dallas Middle School held its first quarter awards assembly earlier this year.

The program, established to celebrate the achievements of students and staff, acknowledged those students achieving honor roll status as well as student athletes who competed in fall sports.

Students who earned Honors with Distinction earned a grade point average of 98 or higher. Students who led their grade level in the Accelerated Reader Program received certificates of achievement.

Accelerated Reader encourages students to read independently and to develop a love for reading. Students earn points by demonstrating comprehension on completed books and point leaders are recognized quarterly.

Student athletes were also recognized at the program.
