Levandoski is Outstanding Grad

Wyoming Seminary cum laude graduate Katherine Levandoski, daughter of Drs. Gerald and Diane Levandoski of Dallas, received the Harry W. and Emma R. Ruggles Award for Outstanding Graduate in recognition of her scholarship, character and contributions to school life during the school’s 165th Commencement.

She also received the Charles Wood Mathematics Prize for excellence in mathematics and was chosen by her classmates to give the farewell address at commencement.

Levandoski has been named to the Dean’s List with High Honors and has been named to Cum Laude, the academic honor society for independent schools.

In 2008, she attended the Pa. Governor’s School for the Sciences in International Studies. Prior to commencement, she received the President’s Educational Excellence Award, the PIAA Scholar-Athlete Award, the Charles L. March Opinator Award and the Parker H. Burt Prize for excellence in French.

She previously received the Adelade Jeffers Prize for academic excellence, the Brown University Book Award for excellence in English, the Frederick Rudolph Prize for excellence in history writing, the Edwin J. Roberts Memorial Prize for scholarship in Latin and the Philip B. Parsons Memorial Scholarship for academic excellence.

In addition, Levandoski is a 2009 National Merit Scholarship recipient and received the 2008 Alumni Service Award in recognition of her leadership and service to the community.

A Levi Sprague Fellow her senior year, she was active in Blue Key, French Club, Peer Group, Peer Mentors, Peer Writing Lab, Model UN and the student newspaper where she served as staff writer, copy editor and news editor. She also was a member of student government, serving as a class representative and officer and as vice-president and president.

She was a two-sport athlete, serving as a captain for the varsity cross country and swim teams, receiving three MVP awards in cross country and Gold Awards in both swimming and cross country.
