Dr. Larry Pedersen, professor of chemistry at Misericordia University, and MU student Sallyanne Cusma, of Dallas, make jack-o’-lanterns vomit during a recent “Things That Go Boom in the Night! presentation.

The popular event features fire-breathing and exploding pumpkins and other marvels of science suitable for the Halloween season. The event is also offering participants the opportunity to gaze at the stars through telescopes with Michael Orleski, Ph.D., assistant professor.

There will also be free candy for children and a bake sale that benefits Misericordia University’s Dead Alchemist Society.

The event is open free to the public. For more information, call 674-6300.
