Pilger gets first turkey

Dylan Pilger, 13, of Kunkle, shot his first turkey on November 28 while hunting with his father and his friend, Bill and Jake. The turkey weighed 17 pounds and had a 9-inch bear. Pilger is having the turkey mounted by Jeff May of Sweet Valley.

DJHS soccer team grabs D-2 title

The Dallas Junior High soccer team recently captured the District 2 championship, defeating previously-unbeaten Abington Heights of the Lackawanna County League, 2-0.
