The Dallas Middle School soccer team defeated Abington Heights, 3-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Lake-Lehman soccer field to earn its second consecutive District 2 championship. The Mountaineers sported a 14-0-1 record entering the game and were escorted back to their school by Dallas Borough and Franklin Township fire trucks following the victory.
The Dallas Middle School girls cross country team won the Wyoming Valley Conference Championship meet on October 19. The team finished the regular season undefeated with a record 14-0.
The Back Mountain Wizards boys soccer team captured the Back Mountain U11 championship and U11 Luzerne County Cup Championship. Scranton Prep and Carbondale fell short of the District 2 football playoffs, but used winning records to extend their seasons into the Eastern Conference playoffs.
