Answini, Zawatski team up to lead Apollo past UGI

3rd & 4th GRADE BOYS

Apollo Group 25

UGI/Penn Natural Gas 12

The Apollo Group Knicks defeated the UGI/Penn Natural Gas Magic, 25-12.

Derek Answin led the Knicks with 15 points followed by Ethan Zawatski who added eight points and Josh Lupole with two points. Josh Wyandt, Zach Bloom and Ryan Kostelnick played great defensively.

The Magic were led by Colin Bowanko with 10 points and Christian Motley who added two points. Aiden Nelson was a force in rebounding and Jared Polit Moran played tough defense.

Dallas Rotary 24

The Bishop Photo Lakers defeated the Dallas Rotary Timberwolves, 3 -24.

High scorer for the Lakers was David Schuster with 21. The Lakers’ offense was also powered by Adam Borton with five points followed by Hunter Resavage and Andrew Grabowski with two points each.

Chris Banas scooped up several loose balls, all at key moments in the game. Dante Marianacci and Thomas Marsola played tough defense.

Fieldhouse Sporting Goods 28

Wyoming Valley Auto Sales 16

The Fieldhouse Sporting Goods Hornets got in the win column with a 28-16 win over Wyoming Valley Auto Sales Raptors.

The Hornets were led in scoring by Dalton Simpson with 16 and Matt Dillon added six. Brian Kmetz and Ethan Mooney also scored for the Hornets while Andrew Menig and Matthew Wrubel worked hard to help control the boards in the winning effort.

Gordon & Long 36

Burger King 15

Gordon & Long Real Estate Cavs beat Burger King Suns, 36-15.

Jay Bittner and Nick Kocher both contributed 16 points while John Bynon and Sam Kravitsky added two points apiece. Jake Novitski and Zachary Palfey had good looks but the ball wouldn’t drop for them.

The Suns were led by Hunter Landon who scored 13 points. Christopher Carver played great defense and added a bucket. Nick Matcho also played strong defense.

Orthopedic Consultants 24

Dr. Kovalick 12

The Orthopedic Consultants Bulls defeated the Dr. Kovalick Sixers, 24-12.

Blake Chopyak scored five and Nick Solinsky added two points. Michael Krakowski and Hunter Zimmerman led the defense.

Bernie Frantz led the 76ers with four points while Josh Lydon and Andrew Kovalick chipped in three points each. Brody Strickland, Rusty Coolbaugh, Joey Chacke and Vince Vespico all hustled for rebounds and played good defense.

Quad Three Group 21

Gattuso Group 19

The Quad Three Group Celtics squeaked by the Gattuso Group Accountants & Consultant Spurs, 21-19, in a very exciting game.

Leading the Celtics’ offense were Josh Holdredge with eight points and Chris Hadsall with six points. The Celtic defense was led by Zach Strazdus and Calob Sweitzer.

Mason Gattuso led the Spurs in scoring with 11 points and Cole Wyffels, Alex Kapral and Nate Maransky scored two points apiece. Parker DelSanto and Steven and Justin Finerelli played excellent defense

Gordon& Long 26

Orthopedic Consultants 20

The Gordon & Long Real Estate Cavs defeated the Orthopedic Consultants Bulls, 26-20.

Jay Bittner led the Cavs with 14 points while Nick Kocher added 10 points and Collin Gleco rounded out the scoring with two points. Sam Kravitsky played outstanding defense.

Orthopedic Consultants Bulls were led by Alex Charlton with 12 points. David and Blake Chopyak added four points apiece.

Wyoming Valley Auto Sales 24

The Bishop Photo Lakers outscored the Wyoming Valley Auto Sales Raptors, 35-24.

Scoring points for the Lakers were David Schuster with 20, Adam Borton with 10, Hunter Resavage with three and Andrew Grabowski with two. The Lakers’ defense was led by Chris Banas, Dante Marianacci and Thomas Marsola.

Gattuso Group 24

Apollo Group 22

The Gattuso Group Accountants & Consultants Spurs defeated the Apollo Group Knicks, 24-22, in overtime.

This very exciting game had two evenly-matched teams and the lead went back and forth. The game was tied at 22-22 after four quarters.

Mason Gattuso led the Spurs, scoring 16 points, including sinking two foul shots to tie the game in the fourth quarter and the winning OT bucket.

Alex Kapral had four points, Jack Ziemba and Cole Wyffels had two points each. Jack Ziemba, Alex Kapral and Nate Maransky did a great job rebounding.

Derek Answini and Ethan Zawatski had 10 points apiece for the Knicks while Zach Bloom and Josh Wyandt played well defensively.

Fieldhouse Sporting Goods 35

Burger King 18

The Fieldhouse Sporting Goods Hornets got off to a quick start. thanks to eight first-half points by Brian Kmetz and went on to defeat the Burger King suns, 35-18.

Michael Luksic also chipped in with eight points to go along with Dalton Simpson’s team-high 14. The strong rebounding and defensive effort for the Hornets was led by John Macey and Ethan Mooney.

Quad Three Group 26

Dr. Kovalick 19

The Quad Three Group Celtics defeated the Dr. Kovalick Sixers, 26-19.

Matt Mathers led the Celtic offense with 21 points with Calob Sweitzer and John Betzko each scoring a basket. Anchoring the Celtic defense were Elijah Chester and Zach Miller.

Bernie Frantz and Josh Lydon led the 76ers with eight points each. Andrew Kovalick and Brody Strickland grabbed some key rebounds while Rusty Coolbaugh, Joey Chacke and Vince Vespico played great defense and hustled for loose balls.

Dallas Rotary 31

UGI/Penn Natural Gas 6

Matt Magonotta spearheaded a stifling defensive effort as the Dallas Rotary Timberwolves defeated the UGI/Penn Natural GasMagic, 31-6.

Michael Anderson had 17 points, Justin Fell added eight, Jonathan Manzella had four and Jakob Flores had two.
