B TEAM

Ed-Lark 30

Back Mountain 0

Despite a great effort by the Back Mountain B team, the Bobcats came up on the short end of a 30-0 score against Ed-Lark.

The offense, led by Adam Rosencrance, Connor Kerkowski, Anthony Grandenitti, Devin Dickson, Owen Morgan and Chris Allen, did a great job in protecting the backfield of Stone Mannello, Corbin Holcomb, Jack Tomko, Cameron Brennan and RJ Driscoll.

Kingston Township 14

Exeter 8

The Kingston Township Raiders B Team improved to 7-2 with a 14-8 victory over a very tough Exeter Panthers team.

The offense was led by quarterback Ricky Morgan, filling in for an injured Ryan Martin. Morgan was solid throughout the game and was supported with a fine running effort by the starting backfield consisting of Bret Storrs, Connor Motley and Tanner Gattuso. All three contributed to a consistently successful running effort all afternoon .

This effort was made possible by the blocking efforts of Mitch Kelly, David Edwards, Mike Golden, Nick Mathers and Kyle Piskorik. The Panthers pulled ahead, 8-0, in the second quarter but the Raiders would not be denied the victory; they fought back to win. This effort was led by Bret Storrs with two touchdowns, although the whole backfield contributed to moving the ball downfield.

Once the Panthers had scored, a solid defensive effort by the Raiders did not allow additional points. The Panthers’; running game was kept in check in the second half by a tough Raiders defensive line anchored by David Edwards, Mitch Kelly, Jason Culp and Michael Golden.

Defensive ends Conor Motley and Christian Roberts prevented the Panthers from breaking the outside on their runs. As a result, the Panthers attempted to move the ball by passing. Once again, the Raiders’ defense stood up to the challenge. There was excellent cornerback play by the Mathers brothers, Nick and Matthew. Also, a solid effort was turned in by safety Peter Capitano, who ended up with two interceptions for the afternoon.

The Jr. Mounts took an early 6-0 lead as Josh Lydon struck from 3 yards out in the first quarter. With the game seemingly in hand and with less than two minutes to play, Duryea was able to slip some tackles and break one for 72 yards for the 8-6 win.

There was great blocking by the offensive line of Travis Martin, Jacob Monko, Colby Kennedy, Bryce Taylor, Damien Conklin, Joshua Schnable and William Labar. Kyle Sweppenheiser, Ethan Adams and Brian Morio added 2-point conversions.

A stout defense led by Blaise Napierkowski with several key tackles, two fumble recoveries by Ethan Adams and a crushing tackling by Matt Whitesell held the Hurricanes to just two scores.

Billy Martin, Dan Meuser, Ben Yanchick and Dale Deyo kept the opposing offense to just a few short gains. Up front, the defensive line of Peyton Shaw, Noah Silver, Dustin Heinrich, Gabe Allen, Connor Morgan, Chase Hector and Aaron Groboski kept the Hurricanes on their heels.
