DHS swimmers meet Olympic medalists

Dallas High School swim coach Romayne Mosier and swim team members Chris Tamanini, Cody Sabecky and Brandon Harding attended the Eastern States Swim Clinic in Cherry Hill, New Jersey recently.

Members of the team had the opportunity to meet and work with Olympic swimmers Dara Torres, a 5-time Olympian, winning 12 Olympic medals; Brendan Hansen, 2004 Olympic gold medalist, 2000 bronze medalist and world record holder; and Rebecca Soni, 2008 Olympian with a gold medal and two silver medals and three-time national champion.

The team also attended lectures facilitated by Olympic coaches and assistant coaches, including Jack Bauerle, 2008 head Olympic coach and 2000 assistant Olympic coach and head coach of the Georgia men’s and women’s teams; Bob Bowman, 2004 and 2008 assistant Olympic coach and coach of eight-time gold medal winner Michael Phelps; Sean Hutchison, 2008 assistant Olympic coach and head coach, KING Aquatics; Bob Steele, USA master coach consultant and former director of athlete and coach development; and Charlene Boudreau, USA swimming nutritionist.
