Dallas, Coughlin and Lake-Lehman lead all-star teams

The Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer coaches recently named its all-star team for the 2009 season.

In Division I, Dallas and Coughlin led the way with four players each being honored on the first team. Erik Cannon (forward), Scott Webb (midfielder), Zach Dutter and Christian Pyros (defense) made the first team for the Mountaineers, joined by Coughlin’s Mike Turner (midfielder), Brian Suchoski (forward), Bobby Sorokas (defense) and Justin Coskey (keeper).

Crestwood midfielders Kevin Kupris and Nick DeSpirito and defender Ryan Pisaneski also made the first team. Making the first team from Wyoming Valley West were forward Joseph Schmid, midfielder Nate Snedden, and defender Korbin Keene.

Holy Redeemer defenders Bryan Brown and Steve Ruch, Wyoming Seminary defender Matt Smith and Tunkhannock midfielder Ryan Karnopp were also named to the first team.

Members of the DI second team are Coughlin’s Tim Long, Jake Karavitch, Jordan Okun, Brian Zingaretti and Ryan Susek; Crestwood’s Jim Moran, Steve Rerick and A.J. Krysicki; Dallas’ Drew Schaub and Chris Dillion; Tunkhannock’s Gavin Colley, Kelley Healey and R.J. Barr; Wyoming Seminary’s Chibueze Onwunaka and Austin Shin; Pat Kalish and Jared Kukosky from Holy Redeemer; and Ryan Wisnewski of Wyoming Valley West.

In Division II, champion Lake-Lehman led the way with four players on the first team, including midfielders Danny Precone and J.J. Karlowicz, forward Matt Bevan, and defender Kevin Cope.

Forwards Matt Lukachinsky and Austin Bogart and midfielder Ryan Thomas were named from Hanover Area as well as three players each from Berwick and Pittston Area. Representing the Bulldogs’ team is keeper Randall Jones, defender Kelby Lindsey and forward Mike Henger. From the Patriots are forward Danny Scatena, midfielder Mike Blasi and defender Dylan Kester.

Rounding out the Division II first team are Meyers’ Tim Zaccone (defender) and Matt James (midfielder), Nanticoke Area’s Joe Zwiebel (defender) and Josh Lukeszewski (forward) and GAR defender Kyle Kogoy.

Members of the second team are Chris McGavin, Ron Missal, Joe DiMaggio, Max Rottenecker and Jeff Frail, Meyers; Chris Edkins, Jay Dawsey and John Butchko, Lake-Lehman; Steve McCann and Edgardo Flores, GAR; Pietro Colella and Brian Wertz, Pittston Area; Kevin Bly and Adam Yaros, Hanover Area. Dustin Robaczewski (Nanticoke Area), Ryan Scirrotto (MMI) and Mark Bugelholl (Wyoming Area) were also named to the second team.
