The Mountaineers scored five of their touchdowns from inside the 10-yard line led by quarterback Adam Goeringer who scored on a pair of two short runs and Jake Simon who added a pair of short scoring runs.

Before an overflow Lake-Lehman Homecoming crowd, Dallas improved its record to 9-1, advancing to the District 2 Class 3A playoffs.

The Mountaineers were scheduled to play North Pocono this weekend at Mountaineer Stadium.

Lake-Lehman, behind quarterback Adam Weaver, had little trouble moving the ball against the Dallas defense in the first quarter.

The Black Knights (4-6) scored on a 25-yard pass from Weaver to Brian Mathers, pulling within one to 7-6 with 4:44 remaining in the first quarter.

The junior quarterback threw for 138 of his 165 yards in the first half.

From that point; however, it was almost all Dallas.

Dallas held Lake-Lehman to just 85 yards in the second half, 56 of them coming on a run by Mathers.

All three Black Knights’ first downs in the second half came on the same drive which resulted in Lake-Lehman being stopped at the Dallas 3-yard line.

The Mountaineer offense gained 183 yards in the first half and 186 in the second.
