Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Wren Sr. of Wilkes-Barre celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 7.

They were married Sept. 7, 1957 by the late Charles Gallagher of St. Theresa’s Church, Wilkes-Barre.

Attendants were the late Kathleen Gallagher Degnan, sister of the bride, and the late Thomas Mahle, friend of the groom.

Mrs. Wren is the former Barbara Ann Gallagher, daughter of the late Doris Angelo and Elijah Gallagher. She is retired from King’s College.

Mr. Wren is the son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Wren. He is retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot.

The couple has four children: Richard S. Wren Jr., Tammy Wren Kellar and her spouse, Gary; Timothy A. Wren Sr. and his spouse, Melissa, and Russell E. Wren and his spouse, Amy.

They have 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A surprise party was held at Genetti’s Best Western, Wilkes-Barre, and the couple renewed their vows with the Rev. John Terry of St. Mary’s Church.

The couple’s children would like to thank them for teaching them good values and the meaning of what family is all about.
