Mr. and Mrs. William Gabel celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. William Gabel, of Dallas, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 5.

On a sunny Saturday, they were married by the Rev. Joseph Gilgallon at St. Anne’s Chapel in Kingston. Attending on this joyous occasion were Elaine (Lewko) Garrah, Carol (Jamiolkowski) Horoszy and the late Eleanor (Hughes) Nicholson, the late Andrew Ruddy, Andrew Strutko and Theodore Gabel.

William Gabel is the son of the late Edmund and Grace (Bertram) Gabel of Chase and Luzerne. Marilyn Gabel is the daughter of the late Andrew and Leona (Yudichak) Strutko of Kingston and Dallas.

The loving couple have three children: Lisa Bolton, wife of Donald in Trucksville; William Gabel, husband of Beth in Freeland, and Nicole Leonard, wife of Andrew in Monroe Township. The couple was blessed with six grandchildren: Brieann, Bridget and Bethann Bolton, Hailee Koytek and Corrigan and Kaiden Nolasko.

The couple enjoyed a celebratory gathering organized by their children at the home of Don and Lisa in Trucksville. Family and friends enjoyed an outdoor pool party and reception. A religious service of thanksgiving was celebrated at Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, at the 4 p.m. Mass on Aug. 12. Family and friends witnessed the Rev. Walter Jenkins provide a blessing over the couple.

The couple is planning a trip in the late spring.
