The Kingston Twp. Raiders A team became the only undefeated team in the WVWYFCC by beating the previously unbeaten Kingston Huskies, 48-20, in an offensive slugfest.
Daunte Zurenda ran for four touchdowns and JT Carey added two touchdown runs while Corey Stegman completed the scoring with a 2-point conversion.
With the Raiders ahead 24-20 at halftime, Michael Olenginski sacked the Kingston quarterback on a fourth and five play and stymied the potent Huskies offense to start the second half.
The Raiders then went on to score 24 unanswered points behind a Herculean effort on the part of the offensive line of Edmund Mesczyzynski, Stephen Wempa, Steven Derhammer, Kyle Kotulski, Shawn Spencer and Matt Karuza.
Cody Stemrich provided tough inside running, keeping the ball out of the Huskies‚?? hands for most of the second half.
Back Mountain 42
The Back Mountain Bobcats A Team avenged its playoff loss to Plymouth last season with a 42-12 win last Sunday.
Plymouth opened the game with a 45-yard touchdown drive. The defense of Cody Long, Randy Zacharais, Austin Parry, Brian Durling, Elija Vigil, PJ Konnick and Paul Ciaccia kept Plymouth to just 12 points for the entire game.
The defense backs, led by Dylan Pilger, Angelino Baltier, Willy Mucha, Justin Butler, Evan May, Justus Schultz and CJ McCauley shut down the passing attack and kept the running game in-check.
Angelino Baltier had a one-handed interception for the Bobcats. Dylan Pilger also had an interception while Brian Durling recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Justin Schultz and Elija Vigil also had fumble recoveries.
The offense, led by Cody Long, Evan May, Adam Simmonette, Matt Durling, Joey Vigil, Justus Schultz, CJ McCauley and Tyler Brobst had another impressive showing with over 300 years rushing. PJ McCauley had his first start at fullback this season and had some great blocks for the running backs.
Willy Mucha had three rushing touchdowns and completed a touchdown pass to Dylan Pilger. Angelino Baltier added the final touchdown for the Bobcats. Dylan Pilger, Justin Butler, and Joey Vigil each added 2-point conversions for Back Mountain.
Back Mountain 0
The Back Mountain Bobcats B team played tough but suffered a 36-0 loss at the hands of the Plymouth Indians.
Great runs were made by Corbin Holcomb, Jack Tomko, Cameron Brennan, RJ Driscoll and Stone Mannello. AJ Spears and Artie Coolbaugh both had fumble recoveries for the Bobcats.
Great offense was played by Adam Rosencrance, Connor Kerkowski, Artie Coolbaugh, AJ Spears and Zach Haddle.
The defense of Erik Sweppenheiser, Zack Gabel, Eric George, Anthony Grandinetti and Marcus Steele made some great plays. Great tackles were made by Eric George, Stone Mannello, Jack Tomko, Corbin Holcomb, Cameron Brennan and Zach Haddle.
Kingston Township 8
The Kingston Township Raiders improved to 6-1 with an 8-0 overtime victory over a very tough Kingston Huskies team.
Kyle Piskorik and Brett Storrs played the run defense well all day and Christian Roberts broke up several passes. The defensive unit, led by Ryan Martin, David Edwards, Mitch Kelly, Nicholas Mathers and Michael Golden, weas able to enjoy its sixth shutout of the 2009 Season.
The offensive unit was led by Conor Motley, Peter Capitano and Matthew Mathers. There was fine blocking up front from Ricky Morgan, Abdul Almecky and Christian Roberts.
Motley had several nice runs but the Raiders failed to capitalize on them due to a tough Kingston Huskies defensive unit.
The game came down to overtime, with Tanner Gattuso making a fine touchdown run and also a 2-point conversion to seal the win.
Kingston Township 24
The Kingston Township Raiders C team improved to 6-1 on the season with a convincing 24-6 victory over the Kingston Huskies.
The Raider offensive line controlled the game all day behind the blocking of Carl Markowski, Michael Luksic, Justin Finarelli, Michael Anderson and Caleb Hill. Devin Robbins had two touchdowns for KT and David Schuster added the other.
After the initial series of the game when Kingston was able to score, the Raiders shut the door for the rest of the game behind strong defensive games from Mason Gattuso, Andrew Grabowski, Kyle McAndrew, Max Dzugan and Josh Holdredge.
Back Mountain 16
The Back Mountain Bobcats C team had a great game against the Plymouth Indians and came away with a 16-0 victory.
Touchdowns were scored by Bobcats Nate O‚??Donnell and Nicholas Whitesell while 2-point conversions were completed by Nicholas Whitesell and Nate Hazeltine. Hunter Landon had a fumble recovery and Gage Mitchell had an interception.
The offense of Joseph Deyo, Bradley Adams, Dakota Heinrich, Zach Bloom and Hunter Landon created great holes for running backs Nicholas Whitesell, Nate O‚??Donnell, Nate Hazeltine and Nate LaBar.
Great defense was played by Quinten Huey, Gage Mitchell, Cole Robbins, Matt Schnable Cole Wyffels, Zach Hill and Josh Durling.
The Dallas Jr. Mounts C team defeated Ed/Lark last Sunday, 26-6, to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Jay Bittner, Todd Phillips and Josh Lydon found plenty of running room behind the blocking of Jake Weiland, Drew Patton, Shawn Henniger and Joseph Brennan.
The defense, led by Connor Maloney, Ethan Zawatski, Colin Dempsey and Jared Frank, held Ed-Lark in check, giving up just one score toward the end of the game.
The Dallas Jr. Mounts improved their record to 7-0 on the season with a victory Sunday over the Ed-Lark Hurricanes.
Lucas Shultz, Jacob Brennan, John Cantando and Josh Peters opened up some gaping holes for the offense. Jack Gallis, Jacob Esposito, Xander Shaner and Freddie Lombardo all reached paydirt behind these road graders. Brennan also added a 2-point conversion.
Shaner and Kuris Ryniec each recovered fumbles for the Dallas defense. Ryan Maloney, Christian Sebastinelli and Alex Hajkowski were in the Hurricanes‚?? backfield all day, causing many disruptions. The defense shut out the Hurricanes until midway through the third quarter.
Kingston Township 28
The Kingston Township Raiders D team beat the Kingston Huskies, 28-0.
Offensively, the Raiders scored early. Michael Starbuck, Matt Maransky and Devon Butwin all added points. Additionally, strong runs by Lucas McGeehan, Scott McCaughlin and Jacob Sorber kept the drives alive.
The Raiders‚?? defensive line kept the ball from getting into the secondary for most of the day. Notable tackles by Blake Perrego, Jushua Balara, Andrew Gryskevicz, Nicholas Lias-Lewis and Dylan Schuster kept the Huskies off the board.
Back Mountain 26
The Back Mountain Bobcat D Team was victorious against the Plymouth Indians, 26-24.
Three touchdowns were scored by Leonard Kelly while Holly Ondish added one and a 2-point conversion was scored by Kyle Sweppenheiser.
The defensive players, led by Bryan Morio, Jacob Monko, Travis Martin, Billy Martin, Holly Ondish, Daniel Meuser, Bryce Taylor, Damien Conklin, William LaBar, Colby Kennedy, Braeden Love, Aaron Groboski, Gabe Allen, Dale Deyo, Peyton Shaw, Noah Silver, Ethan Adams, Leonard Kelly, Ben Yanchick, Kyle Sweppenheiser, Dustin Heinrich, Blaise Napierkowski and Chase Hector played extremely well.
