The Kingston Township Board of Supervisors has announced that Spring Cleanup for 2010 will be held May 3-8, at the Kingston Township Public Works Facility, East Center Street, Shavertown. Spring Cleanup is open to Kingston Township residents only.
The hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
All residents will be required to obtain an Admission Coupon in accordance with the following fee schedule: Cars/small SUVs, $5/coupon (unlimited); mini vans/mid-size SUVs/small pick-up trucks (6-foot bed or less), $10/coupon (unlimited); full-size pick-up trucks/utility trailers/cargo vans (less than one ton), $25/coupon, (two- trip limit); and vehicles heavier than one ton, $85/coupon (one-trip limit).
Residents are reminded that refunds will not be given on admission coupons.
Proof of residency, such as a tax bill or driverÔ??s license, is required to receive a coupon. Admission coupons will be issued to occupants of rental units and not owners. Residents will be limited to one of each coupon type.
To prevent delays at the drop-off site, residents are encouraged to purchase their coupons from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday through Friday, April 30, at the Kingston Township Municipal Building Administrative Office.
During cleanup week, coupons will only be available at the drop-off site.
Items that will not be accepted include household trash or garbage, recyclable items such as newspapers, plastics, bi-metallic cans, clear and colored glass, tree stumps, rocks and construction debris; toxic substances such as paints, solvents, automotive fluids, fertilizers, medical waste or chemicals.
Other items not accepted are washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, furnaces, stoves, water heaters or other large appliances. These items maybe disposed of through the Dallas Area Municipal Authority (696-1133) for a nominal fee.
Air conditioners or dehumidifiers tagged with a certified sticker from a professional, stating that the Freon has been removed will be accepted. Tires are limited to two per residence. Residents are asked to present tattered American flags to the staff for proper disposal.
All residents must present coupon and proper ID to police officers on duty at the entrance to the cleanup. Police officers will collect coupons with one-trip and two trip limits.
