WILKES-BARRE - A former man on Monday pleaded guilty for his role in a deadly shooting in October 2007.

Sinard Ballard, 23, formerly of Parsonage Street, pleaded guilty to third degree murder and two counts of robbery before Luzerne County Senior Judge Chester Muroski.
Ballard was set for a trial on a second degree murder charge today.
Ballard was charged for setting up the robbery of John Paglianite, 32, who Ballard's girlfriend, Corrisa Breznay, 24, said robbed her of heroin and money, according to arrest records.
Arrest records say the robbery turned deadly when Ballard's friend, Marcellus Thomas, 20, shot John Johnson, 19, and Paglianite multiple times inside a Pittston residence on Oct. 15, 2007. Johnson died from the gunshot wounds.
Paglianite suffered two gunshot wounds and sought help from a nearby tavern.
Investigators said in arrest records that Ballard set up the robbery when he was jailed at the county correctional facility in October 2007.
Ballard is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 28.
