St. Jude school recognized at Pontifical Mass

St. Jude School in Mountain Top was one of several schools recognized at a Pontifical Mass for World Mission Sunday at St. Peterâ??s Cathedral in Scranton. Ella and Lauren Urosevich, students at St. Judeâ??s, accepted the schoolâ??s award on behalf of the entire student body. The awards were presented with sincere gratitude by the Diocesan Office for the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, in recognition of the generous responses of prayer and sacrifices for the worldwide missions of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and the Holy Childhood Association. St. Judeâ??s was recognized in three categories: Hands Together Award for using three or more HCA education programs, Highest Total Sharing and Highest Per Capita. The principal celebrant of the Mass was The Most Rev. Joseph C. Bambera, bishop of Scranton. At the reception following the Mass, in front, from left: Ella and Lauren Urosevich.
