Dorothy Lynn Engle, 66, a resident of North River Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the Inpatient Unit, Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre hospital after a valiant battle with cancer.
Ms. Engle was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Phillip and Eleanor Werner Bardo. She attended James M. Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and had been employed by the former Penn State Belt and Buckle Co., Georgetown, for many years. She had later worked in the Housekeeping Department, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, and at Lord and Taylor Warehouse, Wilkes-Barre Township. Prior to her retirement due to ill health, Ms. Engle was associated with A.C. Moore Co., Wilkes-Barre Township Commons. Lynn enjoyed being with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are her daughter, Christine Sokoloski, and her husband, Richard, Kingston; sons, Daniel R. Engle Jr. and his wife, Leighann, and Chad E. Engle and his wife, Heather, all of Wilkes-Barre, and six grandchildren.

funeral will be held at the convenience of the family from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 451 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary‚??s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
At Lynn‚??s request, there will be no public calling hours or service. The family suggests that memorial donations in Lynn‚??s memory be made to: Hospice Community Care, 601 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704.
