The company will use the space to provide warehousing, distribution and supply chain services to a large consumer goods company.
Mericle spokesman Jim Cummings said, "(Third-party logistics providers) typically sign confidentiality agreements with their clients and don??t disclose their identities in press articles. As such, we don??t disclose them either."
GENCO ATC has leased space from Mericle in a 408,200 square foot building at 61 Green Mountain Road, East Union Township, Schuylkill County.
GENCO ATC expects to begin operations in the building early this fall, according to a press release issued by Mericle.
Cummings said the company did not release job totals but asked for parking spaces to accommodate up to 50 people at its new home. The company has operated out of a smaller building in the park for a few years and has outgrown its space.
Mericle Vice President Bill Jones said GENCO ATC??s growth in Northeastern Pennsylvania could be a ??foreshadowing of good things to come.? He said inquiries from companies seeking space in the region appear to be on the rise.
