Family Service Association of Wyoming Valley (FSAWV) is sponsoring its third annual National Family Week Conference on Nov. 16 at The Woodlands Inn and Resort, Route 315, Wilkes-Barre. The conference, titled A Snapshot in Progress: Restoring Justice in Our Community, will begin with registration at 11:30 a.m. followed by the opening session at 12:30 p.m. The event will conclude with dinner and a keynote presentation by The Honorable Thomas F. Burke Jr., president, Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas. Sessions will also include presentations by members of the Family Service Association staff; Susan Blackburn, specialist for the Center for Juvenile Justice Training and Research, Shippensburg; Tanya Olaviany, director, Catholic Social Services, Big Brothers Big Sisters Expansion and Enhancement Program; Judith Jones, director, Lycoming, Northumberland and Luzerne County CASA-Court Appointed Special Advocate Program; and Jason Harlan, treatment supervisor, Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Education and Training for At Risk Youth.
