Wilkes-Barre General Hospital has been recognized with a Chief of Staff Award by Community Health Systems, one of the nation's leading operators of general acute-care hospitals. The organization's affiliates include Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and 134 other hospitals in 29 states. Presented at the organization's annual Chiefs of Staff meeting, Dr. Douglas Coslett accepted the award on behalf of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Coslett is president-elect of the hospital's medical staff and serves as chairman of the hospital's Medical Executive Committee. Coslett noted that Wilkes-Barre General Hospital has demonstrated a commitment to quality as evidenced by continuous improvement in Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey (HCAHPS) and Core Measure scores since 2009.
