ITHACA – Danielle Hesler converted a sudden-death penalty kick to lift Misericordia to a 6-5 win over Ithaca on Saturday and advance to the NCAA Division III Elite 8 in women's soccer.


The 10th-ranked Cougars will face Brandeis today at 1:30 p.m. at Ithaca with a chance to advance to the Final Four.


Men's Basketball
King's 44, Susquehanna 43

King's forged a nine-point lead with four minutes left then held off a late rally to win the Pepsi Tip-Off Tournament Saturday.


Matt Fiorino earned tournament MVP finishing with eight points while Kyle Hammonds, an all-tournament selection, tallied five points and four boards.


Montgomery 94, LCCC 69

Devin Green scored 14 points as the Trailblazers fell to Montgomery.


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Wilkes 90, PSU-W-B 54

Elena Stambone fired in a career-high 29 points to lead Wilkes, while Megan Kazmerski contributed with 16 points.


Misericordia 67, Rosemont 56

Hannah Seely scored a game and career-high 23 points and posted 11 rebounds for the Cougars in their second game of the St. Mary's Seahawk Classic.


LCCC 61, Montgomery 54

Teresa Kalinay totaled 24 points in the Trailblazers' victory.


MEN'S SWIMMING
Hood College 126, King's 57

Mike Sweeney (1000 free) and Matt Dickson (200 breast) earned wins for King's.


WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Hood College 100, King's 98

Patricia Manning (1000 free, 200 breast) won two events to lead King's, while Caroline Fitch (200 free) was second.


WRESTLING
East Stroudsburg Open

Wilkes wrestlers Mark Misczenski, Griffin Panicucci, Stephen Turner and Phillip Racciato and Marlon Duque all grabbed two wins on the afternoon.
