Student holding heart benefit

WILKES-BARRE: Alissa Cimakosky is holding a benefit for the American Heart Association in memory of her late grandfather, Michael Yakalavich (Nashville Mike), from 1-4 p.m. today at Rodano's, Public Square.

The Helping the Hearts benefit is Cimakosky's senior project for Hanover Area Jr.-Sr. High School. She chose the American Heart Association to honor her grandfather who died from a heart attack on May 1.

The cost is $15 per person and includes food and beverages. There will also be raffles, games and prizes, a bake sale and music provided by a D.J. Everyone is invited.

Cimakosky is also selling T-shirts for $10 and accepting donations for the American Heart Association. To purchase a shirt, or make a donation, contact her at 704-6523.
