DALLAS: A special event, Here Comes Santa Claws, to benefit the Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge will be taking place during the holiday season. Pet photos with Santa will be available for a $10 donation on the following dates and times: noon-4 p.m. on Saturday at Whitings, 161 N. Memorial Highway, Trucksville; noon-5 p.m. on Dec. 1 and noon-4 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Pet Supply Plus, 555 Scott St., Wilkes-Barre; and noon-4 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Dymond's Farm, Brace Road, Dallas.


HANOVER TWP.: Members of the 4 Paws Spay and Neuter Program will be taking pet photos with the Grinch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 at Village Pet Supplies and Gifts, Dundee Plaza, Sans Souci Parkway. Photos will cost $7 each, payable with cash or check, and all proceeds will be used to help spay and neuter the pets of families with financial need in an effort to reduce the number of unwanted pets. The event will take place outside so all pets should be on leashes.

Members from 4 Paws will also be taking photos with Santa on Dec. 8 at Village Pet Supplies.


KINGSTON: Wyoming Valley Dog Squad Troop 221 will meet at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Kingston Fire Department training room, 600 Wyoming Avenue. Current shot records, a leashed dog, a clicker and small treats should be brought to the meeting and a waiver will need to be signed. There is no charge for the meeting. The mission of the scouting group is to improve the lives of dogs, their owners and society through humane education, positive training and community involvement. Future activities include camping, guest speakers, community service and many badge activities. The troop is also raising funds to purchase pet oxygen masks for fire departments in Luzerne County.

SCRANTON: Tickets are available for the Little Sisters of the Poor's Mount Airy Casino Resort Weekend Getaway for Two raffle. The prize includes limousine service from the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area on the weekend of your choice to Mount Airy on Friday and return on Sunday; Friday and Saturday night stay in a luxurious King Suite; $300 in slot play; admission to the VIP and any show in Gypsies; and dinner at Le Sorelle Cucina on Friday, Red Steakhouse on Saturday plus Betty's Diner and Sunday brunch.


All proceeds will benefit the Little Sisters and their mission of serving the elderly poor.


Chances are $10 each or three for $25. The drawing will take place on New Year's Eve. Tickets can be purchased by calling Jackie Galvin, director of development and communications, Holy Family Residence, at 343-3065.
