SWOYERSVILLE – A borough man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with child pornography and related counts.

Stephen Joseph Yedinak, 25, of Swoyersville, faces 10 counts of possession of child pornography, one count of dissemination of child pornography and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility. All charges are third-degree felonies.

The charges stem from undercover investigations into the Internet sharing of child pornography via the ARES file sharing program conducted in June by state police Trooper David Powell.

Powell recognized from previous investigations a file available for sharing from a computer connected to the Internet using ARES software as one containing child pornography. A court order was served on the Internet Service Provider responsible for Internet Protocol addresses associated with the file and the trail led back to Yedinak, according to court papers.

Police served a search warrant on Yedinak's home and seized two laptop computers on which they found 10 pornographic videos involving female children and male adults, court papers said.

PLAINS TWP. – A township man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with child pornography and related counts.

Michael Andrew Toman, 54, of Plains Township, faces one count each of possession of child pornography, dissemination of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility. All charges are third-degree felonies.

The charges stem from undercover investigations into the Internet sharing of child pornography via the ARES file sharing program conducted in December by state police Cpl. Robert Erdley, who is now retired and working as a detective with the Indiana County District Attorney's Office.

Erdley recognized from previous investigations a file available for sharing from a computer connected to the Internet using ARES software as one containing child pornography. A court order was served on the Internet Service Provider responsible for Internet Protocol addresses associated with the file and the trail led back to Toman, according to court papers.

Police served a search warrant on Toman's home and seized a computer on which they found a pornographic video involving a female child, court papers said.
