EXETER – Four police officers were struck by a vehicle Sunday night at a Turkey Hill Minit Mart, police said.


Exeter police Sgt. Michael Coolbaugh said the four officers were all from different departments. He said all were treated and released from Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.


The Exeter police officer who was struck is Thomas Farrell, Coolbaugh said.


Coolbaugh said Pittston Police Department is investigating the incident and he did not have additional details.


Pittston police did not return messages seeking information on the incident.


HANOVER TWP. – Township police reported the following:


• Police are investigating the passing of approximately $160 in suspected counterfeit money Sunday afternoon at the Catholic War Vets on Old Ashley Road.


• Jesse Matias of West Division Street reported at 8:35 p.m. Sunday his 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee was broken into and a DVD/radio was stolen.


• Police are investigating several vehicle break-ins throughout the township. Residents are asked to remove belongings and lock their vehicles.


HAZLETON – City police reported the following:


• Police said Reginald McCoy, 42, of Hazleton, was arrested on several charges after allegedly holding several people against their will early Sunday morning.


According to police, at around 3:30 a.m., McCoy forced his way into a Lyons Court residence and assaulted two men, striking them with a pellet gun. McCoy then held two of the men, a woman and three juveniles in an upstairs bedroom against their will, police said.


When police arrived on the scene, everyone inside was ordered out and McCoy was taken into custody.


McCoy was charged with false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and resisting arrest. He was arraigned by District Judge Joseph Halesay and lodged at the county prison on $25,000 bail.


McCoy will next appear for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 5 before District Judge Joseph Zola.


• Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred late Monday afternoon.


Rocco Sabia, of Weatherly, was driving a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle at the intersection of West 5th Street and North Lee Court when it collided with a white vehicle, possibly a van or SUV at about 5:45 p.m., police said.


The white vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction.


Sabia was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley medical center for hand and leg injuries.

DUNMORE – The Pennsylvania State Police, Troop R, Dunmore, will conduct a car seat checkup event today from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Dunmore headquarters, 85 Keystone Industrial Park, Dunmore.


A trooper who is a certified child passenger safety technician will be available to inspect and re-install child passenger seats at no charge.


The event is open to the public and no appointment is necessary.


WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Township police reported the following:


• Police are seeking information on a robbery suspect who fled the scene on a bike Saturday afternoon.


Employees at Aura Tanning, 460 Empire St., reported that a white male entered the business just before 5 p.m., displayed a silver handgun and demanded money before fleeing on a bicycle.


The suspect is described as thin, dressed in all dark clothing and wearing a black ski mask over his face.


Anyone with information should call the Detective Division at 208-4635, extension 874.


• Christie Wilbur reported on Friday morning that someone stole her purse while she was shopping at J.C. Penney at the Wyoming Valley Mall.


Inside the purse was her wallet and a Droid Bionic cellphone.


The estimated value of items taken is $50.


• Laura Stempien reported on Saturday afternoon that an unknown female stole her cellphone while she was in Hollister at the Wyoming Valley Mall.


The estimated value of the phone is $650.
