EXETER – Police are investigating a daylight robbery and assault on Wednesday.
Police said a victim was walking along Schooley Street when two males approached and asked him for a cigarette. He agreed and, when he went to get it, one of the males punched him in the face and smashed his face off the ground while the other male grabbed his knapsack and fled on foot.
One of the suspects is described as about 6 feet tall, 175 pounds, in his mid 20s with a scruffy face and wearing jeans and a black hoodie. The other is also about 6 feet tall, between 190 and 200 pounds, wearing a dark jacket and jeans.

HAZLETON – A Carbon County man was injured in a two-vehicle crash at South Poplar and Noble streets on Wednesday.
Police said Mark Ricardo, of Luzerne, operating a 2011 Isuzu truck, was turning onto Noble Street and struck a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, operated by Joseph Hornick. Hornick was transported to Hazleton General Hospital for treatment.
WILKES-BARRE TWP. – State police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said they recently cited Outback Steakhouse, Arena Hub Plaza, for furnishing alcohol to a minor.
WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Township police charged Catherine Mae Oshinski, 22, of Nanticoke, with retail theft and drug charges after she allegedly stole jewelry from Walmart on Nov. 20 and found in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Oshinski was charged with retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed with District Judge Michael Dotzel in Wilkes-Barre Township.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Jan. 9.
