The Whitesells

Carson L. Whitesell and Jane M. Whitesell, Sutton Drive, Hunlock Creek, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving Day.

Mr. Whitesell is the son of the late Homer and Hatie Whitesell. He is a retired teacher who taught for 38 years at the Hunlock Creek Elementary School in the Northwest Area School District.

Mrs. Whitesell is the daughter of the late Harrison and Jennie Sutton Meikrantz. She is a retired registered nurse who worked as a school nurse for 22 years in the Northwest Area School District.

The couple was married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 1962, at the Roaring Brook Baptist Church, by the late Rev. Oscar Saxe, former pastor of the Hunlock Creek United Methodist Church.

Their attendants were Sue Flynn Price, the late William James and the late Glenn Yeager.

They have one daughter Karen Jane Korea, son-in-law George and grandson Matthew.

They celebrated the occasion with a dinner party at Costello's with their family and friends.
