The Pennsylvania High School Field Hockey Coaches Association released its 2012 All-State Field Hockey Team on Monday, and state champion Crestwood landed a pair of players on the Class 2A first team.

Comets co-captain Chandler Ackers makes her second consecutive appearance on the first team this year after posting nine goals and 12 assists. She is joined by sophomore midfielder Casey Cole, a first time selection to the team.

In all, Crestwood netted six all-state honors from the coaches association, tops among all area teams.

Holy Redeemer sophomore Greta Ell, who led the Wyoming Valley Conference in points this past season with 53 (20 goals and 13 assists), is also a first team selection. She was an honorable mention pick last season.

Ell is joined on the team by Wyoming Area senior Serra Degnan, who led the Warriors with 10 goals and eight assists, and Wyoming Seminary junior Morgan Malone, who scored a team-high 14 goals.

Wyoming Valley West led all local Class 3A teams with five selections, including senior Maura Anistranski making the first team. Anistranski tied for the Spartans' team lead with 15 goals.

Coughlin followed with three selections, of which Caitlin Wood was also named first team after putting together a 38-point season. Wood is joined on the first team by Hazleton Area's Selena Garzio, who notched 21 goals during the season.
