WILKES-BARRE â?? City police reported the following:
â?¢ Police are investigating a home invasion and assault on Barney Street early Tuesday morning.
According to police, David Moore reported three men forced their way into his home with a gun and threatened and assaulted him. The men fled with Mooreâ??s car, cellphone and wallet. Police did not provide any description of the alleged assailants.
â?¢ Police are investigating a break-in at 20 Catlin Ave. Monday afternoon.
Police said Kathleen Policare reported she heard glass break in her kitchen. She went to investigate and saw a tall white male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt standing with his back to her. The man then slowly left through the rear door.
â?¢ City police responded to a report of shots fired at the Sherman Hills apartment complex just before midnight Monday.
A witness told police he saw two males firing shots at each other at around 11:57 p.m.
One man, described as a black male, age 18 to 24, wearing a white coat, blue jeans and possibly a red hat, ran toward 332 Park View Circle. The other man, described as a heavy-set black male wearing black pants and a black leather jacket, ran into building 304 at N. Empire Court. Neither suspect was located by police.
â?¢ Police cited two people with public drunkenness.
Andrea Dapolito was cited after police found her unresponsive in the front seat of a personâ??s van parked near 223 S. Main St. at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday.
Leonard J. Hess was cited after police received reports of an intoxicated male at the Intermodal Center around 5:23 p.m. Monday.
