More than 60 business students from Misericordia University and other regional colleges and universities recently competed in the Stock Market Game, sponsored by the Kingston office of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a full-service financial services firm headquartered in Philadelphia. Students participating in the contest, which was conducted from Sept. 17 to Dec. 10, were given 250,000 virtual dollars to invest in a simulated online portfolio and had to manage the funds effectively under market conditions. Sponsors, organizers and students who scheduled the contest and took home cash prizes, included, from left, first row: Peter Doggert, Clarks Summit, accounting student, Misericordia University; Katie Phelan, Baltimore, Md., business administration student, King's College; Adam Shelp, financial advisor, Janney Montgomery Scott LLC; and Jared O'Donnell, Conyngham, finance student, King's College.
