HANOVER TWP. – Douglas Luksh, of Lee Park Avenue, Hanover Township, was taken into custody after a motor vehicle roll-over on South Main Street just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.
Police said that upon arrival they found that Luksh allegedly fled the scene. He was later located at a residence in Ashley, police said.
A passenger in the vehicle was transported to an are hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
DORRANCE TWP. – State police in Hazleton reported the following:
• Jerry Vanhoorn, 57, of Hazleton, lost control of his 2000 Ford Expedition on a snow-covered North Main Road and sideswiped a utility pole at about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, state police said.
Vanhoorn was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment of a wound to his forehead.
• Raymond S. Paul, 42, of Wapwallopen, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Accent south on a snow-covered St. Mary's Road when he lost control on a left curve and struck a bridge on the right side of the roadway, police said.
Paul's vehicle was stuck in the snow in a ditch until a passerby pulled it out. Paul then traveled to the area of 7789 Blue Ridge Trail, where the vehicle's engine stopped running and he left the vehicle unattended in the southbound lane without notifying police, police said. Paul returned to the scene about 20 minutes after police arrived there, police said.
Paul was cited with disobeying traffic laws involving safe speed, roadways laned for traffic and immediate notice of accident to police.
BLACK CREEK TWP. – Richard Matyas, 50, of Weston, reported someone stole a package from his mailbox sometime on Jan. 9. The package contained an iPod case worth $10.

HAZLE TWP. – State police in Hazleton said a male and a female stole $508.97 in merchandise from Kmart at the Laurel Mall on Jan. 13. Police said they have leads and one of the suspects might be identified.
