WILKES-BARRE – Former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson is coming to Northeastern Pennsylvania, but he won't be donning boxing gloves or taking a bite out of Evander Holyfield's ear.
Tyson will bring his successful one-man Broadway show, Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, to the F.M. Kirby Center for Performing Arts on May 1. Tickets go on sale at 8 a.m. Friday at $64.50 and $49.50 and can be purchased at the Kirby Center box office, charge by phone at (570) 826-1100 or online at www.kirbycenter.org.
A limited number of VIP Ringside Seats will be available for $300 and will include a premium seat and a post show meet-and-greet with Tyson.
The show takes a rare, personal look inside the life and mind of one of the most feared men ever to wear the heavyweight crown, according to a press release. It is directed by Academy Award nominee Spike Lee.
After a successful run at the MGM in Las Vegas and on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre with Spike Lee, I'm excited to take ‘Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth' on tour and share it with my fans across the country, Tyson said in the release.
‘Undisputed Truth' is my story. I'm giving my all. I'm proud to take the show nationwide.
