Newport Twp. Womenâ??s Activity Group, former fire chief receive Citizenship Awards

The Newport Township Women's Activity Group and former Newport Township Fire Chief Dan Kowalski received Citizenship Awards from the Newport Township Community Organization on Dec. 1 1 at a dinner at Ship's Restaurant, Nanticoke. The Women's Activity Group has worked for 38 years in Newport Township providing activities and services for children. Kowalski has been involved with voluntary community work since 1982. He has been a member of the Glen Lyon Hose Company 4, a firefighter, an emergency medical technician, a facility safety manager, an emergency management coordinator, a certified state fire instructor, a member of the Consolidated Fire Department of Newport Township and Newport Township deputy fire chief and fire chief.
