On March 9 a Furry Friends 5K run/Walk will take place for the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter organized by Nicole Kobylanski in memory of her dog Simba, who was adopted from the shelter but died later of cancer.


The run/walk will begin at the Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road in Clarks Summit. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 10 a.m. There is a $20 registration fee. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers, along with the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Entry forms are available online or at the shelter.
