DALLAS: The cutoff date for the Dallas Lions Club’s Hometown Hero Banner Project is March 31. This will be the final year for the project and all former banners will be on display with the new 2013 banners.

The club anticipates approximately 100 banners will be on display throughout the streets of Dallas. The banners will be displayed from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. At the conclusion of this year’s project, banners will be distributed to sponsors or family members.

Sponsorship forms are available at the Dallas Borough Office, Back Mountain Memorial Library, Dallas American Legion Post 672 and NAPA Auto Parts, Dallas. For more information contact Don Berlew, project chairman, at 675-4360 or 760-6147, or contact any member of the Dallas Lions Club.

HUGHESTOWN: The Hughestown Police Department and Lions Club are hosting an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the pavilion in Hughestown. All children in attendance will receive candy and other prizes and a raffle will be held to win two bicycles. Members of the community are invited to attend. Donations for the event were given by local businesses and individuals.
