The Duryea Borough street department will collect tires on Wednesday, May 1. Residents are asked to place the tires at the curb with rims must be removed. Tires will be collected from residential properties only.

Duryea Borough held an electronic collection on March 27 and collected 11.04 tons of electronic equipment which was delivered to the recycling center. Another collection will be scheduled in late June.

At the Duryea Borough council meeting, Council approved the purchase of a 2013 Peterbilt recycling truck. The natural gas-powered truck will be 90 percent funded by a recycling grant awarded from the Department of Environmental Protection.
