The Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church recently observered United Methodist Women’s Sunday with a service conducted by women of the church.

Participating were Jayne Haefele, Janet Eddy, Jeanne Barrall, Susie Snyder, Kendra Cosgrove, Sabrina Major, president; and Ruth Jones.

The speaker for the service was Kathy Berkey, a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church and a member of the board of the District United Methodist Women. Her sermon was entitled “Food For Thought.”

Each year as part of the Women’s Division, a member of the church is recognized for its work with missions. The gift is forwarded to the Women’s Division of the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. A pin of recognition is awarded to the recipient. This year the pin was given to Gary Miers who has performed many hours of service to the church and its shut-ins.
