The Northeast Pennsylvania Child Passenger Safety Taskforce’s “Safe Ride Program” is requesting donations from the community to help develop a fund to purchase car seats in NEPA. These car seats will be donated by referrals from hospitals, police or social service agencies to children and their families who need and can’t afford them. Some car seats can cost $50 and up, making it difficult for some families, especially those with multiple children.

A new car seat is the safest way to protect a child, according to PennDOT. Used car seats could be damaged or too old to work properly. All car seats will be given with instruction of proper use from a car seat technician or given at a local fitting station.
