Pink Paw for a Cause began in 2008 in the Lackawanna Trail School District. It has grown into a major fundraiser to help fund the fight against breast cancer. Lackawanna Trail raises money by selling T-shirts, sponsored basket raffle tickets and tickets to the Pink Paw Dance. One hundred percent of the proceeds this year will go directly to the American Cancer Society. The event was started by Lois Foley, a teacher at the Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center and cancer survivor, and Desiree Gallagher.

This year the event received $8105.50
