The American Cancer Society seeks residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania to participate in a historic cancer study from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, or from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Hibbard Campus Center at Keystone College.
The enrollment process requires participants to read and sign an informed consent form; complete a brief survey, have a waist circumference measurement; and provide a small blood sample.
To be eligible in the study titled, “Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3),” local residents must between the ages of 30 and 65 and have never been diagnosed with cancer. The goal of CPS-3 is to help researchers better understand the lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer.
For more information about CPS-3 or to schedule an appointment, visit the website www.keystonecps3.org or contact Erin Moskel, account representative, hospital systems, American Cancer Society, at (570) 562-9749.
