EXETER: Wyoming Area School District is hosting its annual Veterans Day Program at noon on Monday at the Wyoming Area Secondary Center, 20 Memorial Street.


Members of local service organizations and Wyoming area veterans will be the honored guests at a luncheon, followed by an assembly for the entire student body in the gymnasium.


All veterans in the Wyoming area community are invited.


Reservations are due by today and can be made by calling Dawn Fasciana at 655-2836 ext. 2344.


NANTICOKE: Students, faculty and staff in the dental health program at Luzerne County Community College will celebrate Roentgen Day from 12:30-1:15 p.m. on Thursday at the DeFinnis Lounge at the college’s Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center.


A dessert and costume contest will be held with prizes awarded to each dessert and costume which best exemplifies Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, who discovered x-rays.


Students participating in the Roentgen Day celebration will provide table clinics and presentations on dental topics such as oral health, proper brushing, how panoramic x-ray technology can be used to find blockages in carotid arteries and myths about dental radiation.


SHAVERTOWN: The Back Mountain Police Association is sponsoring a “Warm Coats for Kids” drive from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Back Mountain Shopping Center.
