MU PLANS ADULT OPEN HOUSE
The Misericordia University Adult Admissions Office will hold an Adult Learner and Transfer Open House from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in Room 431, Building 4 of Luzerne County Community College, 1333 S. Prospect St., Nanticoke.
The event is open to adult students who have general questions about entering or returning to college and who are interested in Misericordia University’s Expressway Accelerated Degree Program.

MISERICORDIA SETS OPEN HOUSE
Misericordia University will hold an open house program on the Back Mountain campus for high school students and their parents on Saturday, Nov. 23. The program offers a tour of the campus, meetings with Misericordia students, faculty and coaches, as well as information sessions with admissions and financial aid counselors.
The program begins with registration at 9 a.m. in the Anderson Sports and Health Center at the North Gate of the upper campus. A special “Meet the Coaches” session will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. and the open house program will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The schedule includes refreshments, campus tours, a faculty session and lunch and meetings with representatives of student services, athletics and financial aid. A session will also be held on the university’s Alternative Learner’s Project for students with learning disabilities.

ARTS SHOW AT MU
Misericordia University will host “An Evening with the Arts,” a festive holiday concert for the community that showcases the vocal talents of students at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in the Lemmond Theater at Walsh Hall.
The free program will celebrate the sounds of the season with an evening of performances by Misericordia University’s chamber singers, Beyond Harmony, the university’s female a cappella group, and vocal ensembles.

OPEN HOUSE AT SEMINARY
Students and their parents interested in learning more about Wyoming Seminary Upper School are invited to attend a fall Upper School Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 on Sem’s Kingston campus.
The Open House will feature campus tours, a presentation on the school’s academics, arts, athletics and activities, opportunities to meet faculty and students and information on admission. Visitors should convene in the Kirby Library on the second floor of the Stettler Learning Resources Center on North Sprague Avenue, Kingston.

‘CELTIC CHRISTMAS’ COMES TO MISERICORDIA
Considered a master of the Irish narrative, storyteller Tomáseen Foley will offer the best of Ireland’s rich cultural heritage with an evening of Celtic music, song and dance when Misericordia University presents “Tomáseen Foley’s A Celtic Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 in Lemmond Theater in Walsh Hall.
Joined by Celtic musicians, dancers and singers, he will offer a mix of Irish stories, traditional Irish Christmas carols and high-kicking dance for an evening of fun that enlivens the Christmas spirit.
Tickets for the concert are $10 for general admission, $5 for alumni, senior citizens and children 12 and under, and free to Misericordia students and are available by calling the Misericordia Box Office at 570-674-6719.
COLLEGE FORUM AT SEMINARY
The College Guidance Department at Wyoming Seminary Upper School will host a special forum titled “The College Forum: Local Gems” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 in the Stettler Learning Resources Center, NOrth Sprague Avenue, Kingston.
The free forum will feature admission directors from eight local colleges and universities discussing the value of attending a local college.

EXHIBITS AT MISERICORDIA
The Pauly Friedman Art Gallery at Misericordia University will present “KLEVINSKY: Mixed Media,” an exhibit of abstract artwork of Wilkes-Barre native David Klevinsky. In addition, an exhibit of black and white photography, “Philip Dente: Found Places,” will be on exhibit in the adjoining MacDonald Art Gallery.
The exhibits will be on display through Dec. 13. The Pauly Friedman Art Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; and Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m.
