Helping a local skier attain her goal of competing in the 2014 Paralympics was the purpose of a special fundraising project carried out by three Wyoming Seminary seniors.

Alexandra Kilyanek, of Hughestown, Lauren Larar, of Waverly, and Cecilia Norris,of Shavertown, organized several fundraisers, such as bake sales, a candle sale and a basket raffle, to support Stephanie Jallen, 17, of Harding, in her effort to compete in the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia.

Jallen was born with CHILD Syndrome, a rare condition that caused her left side to be underdeveloped at birth. Jallen recently visited Wyoming Seminary Upper School to describe her skiing career and Paralympic competition plans.
