WILKES-BARRE — Dhafir Rodgers, 29, has pleaded guilty to multiple forgery counts in connection with a string of bad-check cases.
Rodgers, who was listed as homeless in court documents, entered the plea Tuesday before Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas.
According to police affidavits:
• In August and September of last year, Rodgers cashed three forged checks, totalling $2,978, at Cross Valley Federal Credit Union, passing them off as having come from an employment services company.
• On Sept. 9, Rodgers cashed a forged $976 check at Corner Post Federal Credit Union.
• On Sept. 10, Rodgers attempted to cash a forged check at Choice One Federal Credit Union, but employees determined it to be a counterfeit.
Rodgers owes $3,954 in restitution. Sentencing is set for Oct. 9.
