King’s College Softball will host its annual Champion Skills Softball Clinic on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Scandlon Gymnasium. The clinic is open to girls ages 9-18. A pitching clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and a hitting and fielding clinic will run from 1-3:30 p.m. Participants must bring a glove and sneakers, and may also bring a bat. The cost of each clinic is $40, and $70 for those wishing to attend both clinics. Misericordia Baseball is holding a one-day high school pitching/catching clinic on Monday, Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. County Line Girls Softball League will meet on Monday, Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dupont borough building for all teams interested in playing in the league this year. There is no fee to join. For more information, call Bob at 570-881-8744.

Crestwood Football Booster Club will meet Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at Tony’s Pizza. Meet the Players and adult social plans will be discussed. The club is also seeking basket donations for the adult social. For more information, email crestwoodfootball@hotmail.com.

Duryea Little League will hold a meeting on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the VFW on Stephenson Street in Duryea. Sign ups will also be accepted from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., prior to the meeting. Fees are $65 per child and $100 per family for major league, minor league softball, coach pitch and tee-ball. Fee for Teeners is $80 per player.

PG&W Golf League will meet Wednesday, March 5 at 6 p.m. at Hun’s Cafe 99, located on George Ave. in Parsons. Plans for the upcoming season will be discussed at this time. Wyoming Valley Chapter of PIAA Baseball Officials will meet Sunday, Feb. 16 at 6:15 p.m. in Room 107 of Brieseth Hall on the Wilkes University campus. There will also be a mandatory rules interpretation meeting Sunday, March 9, at 6 p.m. at the same location. Meetings are open to all PIAA baseball umpires and coaches.


Avoca Dupont Little League will be holding Little League registrations for the upcoming season on Feb. 17, 18, 24 and 25 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Little League Field House on Mill Street in Avoca. This also includes registration for T-Ball, Coach Pitch , Minor and Teener League. Final signups will be Feb. 25 with the intent for tryouts on Tuesday Mar. 11 at 6 p.m. Currently, try outs are scheduled to be conducted indoors at the Avoca Community Center at 6 p.m. in accordance and pending field and weather conditions. Hanover Area Little League will hold baseball and softball registration at the Hanover Area Jr./Sr. High School on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. Children ages 4-16 who reside in Hanover Township, Sugar Notch, Warrior Run, Ashley and Newtown are eligible. Parents must bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate, as well as three proofs of residency.

Jenkins Township Little League is holding online sign-ups at www.jenkinstwplittleleague.com. Registration will run through Feb. 28. The costs are T-ball (ages 4-7) $55; coach pitch (6-9) $65; minor baseball/softball (8-11); major baseball/softball (9-12); and teeners baseball/softball (13-16) $85. North Wilkes-Barre Little League registration will be Feb. 22 from 10 a.m.to noon at Parsons’ Primitive Methodist Church, 193 Austin Ave. This includes baseball, softball and teeners. Crestwood Baseball Booster Club is sponsoring its annual dodgeball tournament on Friday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m. in the Crestwood High School gymnasium. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. The public is invited. All proceeds benefit the Crestwood baseball teams.

Solomon Plains Educational Complex will host the Ronald McDonald Charities and Wilkes-Barre Area Educational Improvement Foundation on Friday, March 28 at 6 p.m. at the Solomon Plains Junior High School. Faculty and staff members of Wilkes-Barre Area schools will participate in a basketball tournament and the Wilkes-Barre Area District All-Stars will play against the WBRE/WYOU All-Stars. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.

Swoyersville Little League Night Out Fundraiser will be hosted by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on March 15 at 7 p.m. against Norfolk. A gold zone ticket and kids meal is $22. Wyoming Seminary Rusty Flack Open Golf Tournament and Dinner Party will be held on Monday, May 19 at the Huntsville Golf Club, Lehman, and will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The event will end with a celebratory dinner. The proceeds will benefit the Wyoming Seminary Opportunities Fund, which provides for immediate campus needs not covered by the operating budget, the Alumni Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid each year to qualified students, and the Rusty Flack Memorial Fund.
